Low light · one hard lamp and sodium glow through slatted blinds
Rain and shadow

Rain and shadow. Hard light through a window blind, wet asphalt, and a colour scheme of two things: amber and everything else. Where Gaslight is a country house at ten in the evening, this is a city at two in the morning, and the difference shows in every surface — no polished wood, no soft furnishings, just brick, chrome and water.
The twelve
Every colour on this page is one of those twelve — and so is every pixel of the art in a case set here. The palette is the style lock the plates are quantized to, so the chrome and the art can never belong to different games.
A death here is announced like this
The City Ledger
— Homicide caught the squeal a little after midnight. More on the late wire.
No case is set in Rain and shadow yet
The world exists — the palette, the light, the way its newspapers talk — but nothing has been set here yet. Commission a mystery and describe a setting that fits, and it will be dressed in exactly this.
